2. Hire Services
We provide kayak and paddleboard hire for recreational use on rivers and waterways in Suffolk. All equipment remains the property of Suffolk River and Tide at all times.
3. Booking & Payment
Bookings must be made in advance through our website or by email.
Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
We reserve the right to refuse any booking at our discretion.
4. Cancellation Policy
Customer cancellations:
More than 48 hours before booking: full refund.
Less than 48 hours: no refund unless exceptional circumstances apply.
Our cancellations:
If weather or safety conditions make hire unsafe, we may cancel or reschedule.
You will receive a full refund if we cancel.
5. Safety Requirements
By hiring equipment, you agree to:
Wear a buoyancy aid at all times.
Follow all safety instructions provided.
Ensure all participants are competent swimmers.
Not use equipment under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Supervise children at all times.
We reserve the right to refuse hire if safety concerns arise.
6. Liability
You are responsible for your own safety while using the equipment.
Suffolk River and Tide is not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from misuse, negligence, or failure to follow safety instructions.
You accept full responsibility for any damage to equipment during the hire period.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot be excluded under UK law.
7. Equipment Care
You agree to:
Return all equipment in the condition it was hired.
Pay for repair or replacement if equipment is damaged, lost, or stolen.
Notify us immediately of any issues during hire.
8. Weather & River Conditions
Hire may be cancelled or restricted due to:
High winds
Strong currents
Flooding
Thunderstorms
Other unsafe conditions
Our decision is final.
9. Age Requirements
Minimum age to hire: 18
Under‑18s may participate only with a responsible adult present.
10. Privacy
Your personal data is handled according to our Privacy Policy, available on our website.
11. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
